چکیده

Woody biomass pellets' demand for primary energy production is increasing. To guarantee sustainable and cost-efficient pellet the diversification of feedstock mandatory. In this work it proposed to re-use solid biochar obtained from pyrolysis eucalyptus (PEc) at 700 °C as an additive produce enhanced pine sawdust (PIN) pellets. The process required addition glycerol a lubricant in percentage 1 2 wt% per 5 10 pyrolyzed blend, respectively. Small additions PEc PIN pellets’ grindability water-resistance, providing products with remarkable values durability (up 99%), net calorific value 20 MJ/kg), density 13.3 GJ/m 3 ), particle 1.24 g/cm ). N, S, chlorine, heavy metals contents were also analyzed. pellets fulfill A1/A2 I1/I2 quality classes domestic industrial wood pellets, A preliminary economic evaluation indicated that made up mixture 90% 10% are competitive compared raw expected savings costs production, energy, transport, construction storage site 4, 13, 7%, • Valorization waste, (PEc), proposed. Nitrogen enrichment potential of biochar in relation to pyrolysis temperature and feedstock quality.

Nitrogen (N) enrichment of biochar from both inorganic and organic waste N sources has the potential to add economic and environmental value through its use as a slow release N fertilizer. We investigated the sorption of N by, and its release from, biochar made at pyrolysis temperatures of 400, 500 and 600 °C from three feedstocks: poultry litter (PL with a carbon (C) to N ratio (C:N) of 14), s...

The Pyrolysis-Bioenergy-Biochar Pathway to Carbon-Negative Energy

Avoiding irreversible climate change requires >50% reduction in anthropogenic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by the year 2050 and the net removal of GHGs from the atmosphere by the end of the 21st century. This challenge is particularly daunting given that energy derived from fossil fuels is at the core of all modern economies and some sectors of the economy, such as transportation, will be alm...

Influence of Carbonization Temperature on Physicochemical Properties of Biochar derived from Slow Pyrolysis of Durian Wood (Durio zibethinus) Sawdust

The objective of this study was to explore the influence of pyrolysis temperature on the physicochemical properties of biochar synthesized from durian wood (Durio zibethinus) sawdust. Surface morphological features, including the porosity and BET surface area of biochars, provide appropriate dimensions for growing clusters of microorganisms with excellent water retention capacity in soil. Oxyge...

Estimating Profitability of Two Biochar Production Scenarios: Slow Pyrolysis vs. Fast Pyrolysis

We estimate the profitability of producing biochar from crop residue (corn stover) for two scenarios. The first employs slow pyrolysis to generate biochar and pyrolysis gas and has the advantage of high yields of char (as much as 40 wt-%) but the disadvantage of producing a relatively low-value energy product (pyrolysis gas of modest heating value). The second scenario employs fast pyrolysis to...
